Priory wins gold at industry awards
Priory PR & Events won gold at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Pride Awards for handling the international media story after the Marlie Farm fireworks factory explosion and death of two fire service staff in December last year, on behalf of East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.
Priory dealt with over 2000 media enquiries during the 72 hours following the explosion and provided information and feedback, acting as the face of East Sussex Fire & Rescue during what has been described by senior fire & rescue staff as ‘the most difficult time in our history’.
The Priory team were presented with an award at a glamorous awards ceremony held at the Thistle Hotel, Brighton (21 November 2007), attended by 250 PR experts from across the south.
John de Mierre, Chair of CIPR Home Counties South, said: “The PRide Awards showcase the excellent PR work being done in the Home Counties South region and the contribution this makes to business and society. Having faced a rigorous judging process, to come out on top is a tremendous achievement and I congratulate all of the 2007 winners.”
