Business Awards to launch at Stanmer House

Stanmer House, Brighton

Brighton’s prestigious stately home, Stanmer House, is to host the 2008/09 Sussex Business Awards launch on Thursday 8 May.   Businesses from all sectors across the county are being invited to attend the event where details of the 2008/09 award categories will be unveiled.

The free event will treat guests to locally-sourced canapés and wine, and an opportunity to network with Sussex’s business elite in the stunning surroundings of the stately home and marquee.  Guests will hear inspirational stories from previous award-winners, outlining the benefits of winning from those who know best.

Simon Konecki, managing director of Life Pure Water and winner of Best New Business Award 2007/08, is one of the guest speakers for this year’s launch.  Simon is already reaping the benefits of being a part of the Business Awards.

He said: “As a Sussex business, winning the Best New Business Award has really enabled us to raise our profile locally, with various businesses now choosing to stock Life Water over other imported and non-charity bottled waters.  We believe the Award will further our presence across the county, and nationally throughout 2008”.

This year’s launch event will provide potential entrants with the opportunity to meet some of last year’s winners and gain some important tips from the judging panel in what they look for in a winning entry.

Now in it’s 20th year, the Sussex Business Awards has gone from strength to strength, increasing the number of sponsors and award entries year-on-year.  The Business Awards team are thrilled to welcome three new sponsors on board for 2008: the international airline Emirates, leading law firm asb law and RBLI (Royal British Legion Industries).

Robin Fegan, business awards director, said: “This year’s launch is set to be better than ever before, with ITV Meridian’s Ashleigh McVeigh hosting the proceedings, a fantastic mime artist entertaining our guests, complimentary chocolates from Montezumas, and the local Sussex wine will be flowing!  We hope you can join us for what is set to be a fantastic event”.

Renowned Sussex businessman and chairman of the judges, Malcolm Diamond, will be heading the panel for the fifth year running and is urging companies to go for it in 2008/09.

Sussex Business Awards are created and organised by Priory PR & Events.
